The Social Dinner on Friday 26th February 2016 will be held in the heart of the historic centre and will be organised by "Salento cooking experience". Cost will be €30, to be paid on arrival at the conference. 

 

As the dinner will be organised by the school itself we have been offered the opportunity to have a lesson in pasta making with Gianna earlier in the evening. Though only a maximum of 10 can be accepted (first come, first served!)

Social Dinner

Dinner will be prepared by Gianna Greco, who heads the Salento Cooking Experience school. Cost for the dinner (all included) is €30. All the dishes are 100% local specialities. You may decide to try everything or just what you fancy. Vegetarians will find that all the starters and first courses will be to their liking, and there is a fish second course.

 

6 pm. Lesson in pasta making (limited to max. 10 participants)

 

7.30 pm. Dinner at Corte dello Idume, 5/A, 73100 Lecce  in the heart of the historic centre of Lecce.

 

Dinner will be sit down up to 15-20 people and buffet style if more. Max 40 people.
 

MENU

Starters:

Selection of starters prepared according to what is available ​at the morning market 

 

First courses: 

 

 Orecchiate con cime di rape. Freshly made traditional ear-shaped pasta with locally grown and naturally spicy  greeen leafed turnip, garlic and anchovies.

 

Riso, cozze e patate. Layers of rice, fresh mussels and sliced potato baked in the oven

 

Second courses:

 

Involtini di pescespada. Thin-wrapped swordfish rolls

 

Pignata di cavallo. Slightly spicy equine slow-baked stew.

 

Dessert:

 

Home baked pasticcioto. An egg custardy filled pie

 

Wines: Selection of local Salentino whites, rosè and reds
