By car

There is a good  4-lane highway all the way to the centre of Lecce. The road links directly to Taranto/Naples to the west and to Venice to the North.

From the North or West, follow the motorway until Bari Nord tollbooth. Proceed to Brindisi and then follow the highway SS613 Brindisi-Lecce.

Lecce has regular high speed connections with the whole of Italy.

From Rome to Lecce for example  the train leaves twice a day and the journey takes 5 hours 2o minutes.

The Università del Salento, is less than 2Km from the station. It's a pleasant 2o minute walk through the historic centre. The buses leave from the station very often (buses 11-35-31-33) and the nearest stop is at Porta Napoli, which is about 200m from the Università del Salento.

The nearest airport is Brindisi Papola-Casale International Airport which is 40km from Lecce. There is a shuttle bus from the airport that can take you to the City Terminal in P.zza Carmelo Bene, which is about 500mt from Università del Salento, where the conference will take place. If you buy the ticket at the ticket office the price is 6.50Є, but if you buy it on board it costs 8Є.

Crusi viaggi: from the airport of Brindisi to Lecce the ride is 20Є per person. You can book online or phone 0832305522.

 

If you arrive at Bari Palese-Macchie Karol Wojtyla International Airport, you can easily reach Lecce as well. Take the train from the airport of Bari Palese-Macchie to Bari train station (15 min., though not very frequent), and then change for Lecce (90 min). Click here for timetable or to book online.

By bus

There are bus lines, which connect Lecce with other cities. For example: 

  • Marino Autolinee

  • If you leave from Rome you can easily get to Lecce by Marozzi Autolinee. It connects Rome with Lecce every day with at least 3 runs. Departure: 10 (not available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) – 11 – 15,30 – 23,59. Arrival in Lecce: 17,05 - 19,10 - 23,30 - 08,30.

  • If you leave from Naples, Miccolis Bus offers 3 runs per day and the ticket costs 28Є.
